Markus Holz is new member of the management board at Elbit Systems Deutschland

With his new position as Vice President, Markus Holz has taken over the management of the C4I&Cyber division since March 2023 and has thus simultaneously joined the management board of Elbit Systems Deutschland (ESDE). Holz has already gained relevant management experience in this area in various responsible positions at AIRBUS and HENSOLDT, most recently as head of the FCAS business unit.

After studying business administration at the Bundeswehr University in Munich, Markus Holz earned a bilingual master’s degree in global management at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. In addition, he has completed various executive training programs at EADS and AIRBUS throughout his career.

His military career has taken him from Army officer training through a variety of senior assignments, most recently in the mountain infantry regiment 23. Mr. Holz gained international experience early on during several months of industrial assignments in the U.S., German-Canadian soldier exchanges and in KFOR operations. Since retiring from the forces, Holz has remained active as a reserve officer.

Born in Heidelberg, he began his civilian career at EADS Deutschland GmbH in 2004 as a key account manager in Immenstaad, where he was primarily responsible for global sales of command and control systems. After several years of project management in the German FüInfoSys Heer project, management positions quickly followed, such as international management of soldier modernization programs at EADS, sales management of land-based operations in Germany for AIRBUS Defence & Space, global sales management for the avionics product segment, and finally the establishment and management of the FCAS business unit at HENSOLDT. Here, Markus Holz and his team helped build several industrial consortia and served as consortium leader for the FCMS consortium, among others.

With his broad military expertise as well as exceptional portfolio and industry experience in the field of networked operations, Mr. Holz is an essential element of the management of Elbit Systems Deutschland with regard to the optimization of the operational business and the strategic further development.

“Helping to shape the technological future of the air forces in Germany, France and Spain as part of the multinational FCAS/NGWS program over the past five years has been an extremely complex task. With the move to ESDE, I am pleased to be able to once again contribute my expertise and experience in the field of C4I&Cyber in all capability dimensions and also to cover short-term requirements of our NATO forces from a broad-based product range,” commented the new management member on his position.
